Sliema
A home between
city and sea.
A neighbourhood edition for people choosing a daily routine, not just a view.

Sliema occupies a peninsula on Malta’s northeast coast. Its waterfront promenade, rocky shoreline and concentration of shops and cafés help explain its residential appeal. The town grew from a fishing settlement; traditional townhouses and modern apartments now form different parts of its streetscape.
Choose your side of the peninsula
Start with the trips you actually make. Pin your workplace, then compare the route from each shortlisted home to the relevant waterfront, shop or bus stop. A Sliema address alone does not tell you the entrance location, the gradient of a street or how convenient the return journey feels.
A sea view is a viewing question
Ask which room has the advertised view and whether it is visible when seated. Check whether outdoor space is private, how exposed the terrace feels and whether a photograph shows the property itself or a nearby landmark. Visit with windows open and closed; an area label cannot measure noise inside a bedroom.
Swimming is about access
A short distance to the shoreline is not proof of a usable swimming entrance. In Nexus, choose a mapped swimming place and inspect the actual route. Check access, sea conditions and any restrictions on the day. Neither a pin nor a proximity score certifies bathing safety.
Build a realistic monthly picture
Keep the housing price separate from recurring travel. Compare the outward and return legs at your own working times, then add the journeys you actually expect to make. A bus timetable is useful evidence of a service, but it does not establish crowding or punctuality. A Bolt estimate is not a live booking quote.

A little history
The quieter fishing settlement expanded during the nineteenth century. Sliema became a parish in 1878. Its older streets and the newer waterfront offer different architectural settings to explore when viewing a home.
Festas & local life
Stella Maris is one of Sliema’s parish traditions. Recurring summer celebrations are part of the town’s cultural calendar; confirm this year’s programme locally before planning a visit.

Map the life.
Then find the home.
Use the marketplace to shortlist actual homes, then open a property’s Matrix view for mapped destinations and available journey evidence. Locality photographs are context, not photographs of a listed property.
Get your bearings.
Explore a 2 km radius around the locality centre. This is an area overview, not a property location or a walking-distance boundary.
